THE FABULOUS 4th ~100K BIKE TOUR

The 27th annual Fabulous 4th Metric Century Bicycle Tour in Tryon last July 4, 2010 was a big success.  We received many compliments about the beauty and safety of the ride, the organization of the event, and the great volunteers who helped with the event.
There were some glitches concerning food at the water stops but we will be working to correct those issues before the next tour comes around.

You may notice that we have stopped taking pictures of individual riders as we have in the past due to the poor support by the riders.  Out of the 300+ individual pictures taken last year we sold exactly five of them--hence they are no more.

Instead we will try to concentrate more on what YOU, the riders, desire in this tour. 
To that end, look forward to a questionaire coming your way to help us determine what the desires and needs are of our future tour participants.
 

The Fabulous 4th Metric Century Bike Tour is the principal fund raiser of the Thermal Belt Rotary Club.  The club has only about 13 members, some of which are inactive.  The small size of the club means we cannot do it all ourselves - we will have 100 or so non-Rotarians helping us on July 3 and July 4.  More information about the Thermal Belt Rotary Club and the local individuals and business firms who are sponsors of the Bike Tour can be found on this website or the Thermal Belt Rotary Club website at www.thermalbeltrotary.org

The members of Thermal Belt Rotary and all those who have benefited from the Bike Tour earnings owe a debt of gratitude to Robin Michael, who started the event 27 years ago, and managed it single-handedly for about 23 of those years.  He has now turned it all over to Rotary but will still be starting the event and riding lead motorcycle.
